Solutions · Receive payments
Ask for the money where the job was agreed.
You already have the conversation. Vcents turns it into a payment, without either of you leaving the chat.
How it works
- Say what you need. “Request 40 from Sarah for Tuesday’s class.” Plain English, in the chat.
- Vcents drafts it. It works out the amount and who it’s for, and asks you if there’s more than one person it could be.
- You confirm. Nothing goes out until you’ve seen the amount, the name and the number, and said send.
- They tap and authorise. Your customer approves the payment inside their own banking app — the same login they use for their salary.
- The receipt comes back. Into the same thread, for both of you.
How your customer pays
The payment link offers Pay by Bank first: your customer approves the payment inside their own banking app, with no card details to enter. If they would rather use a card, that works too. Either way the money arrives in your account, and our fee is the same — 2% + 20p per transaction, with no monthly charge and nothing to rent.
Your customer pays in a few taps, and the receipt lands in the chat for both of you straight away.
When the money reaches your bank
Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment partner. Your customer pays straight away and you both see it in the chat. Stripe then sends the money to your bank account 7 days after the payment.
So the chat tells you who has paid today. Your bank balance catches up a week later. Plan for that gap, especially in your first weeks.
What you never have to handle
- No card details reach you — Vcents and Stripe handle the payment page.
- No banking credentials. Paying by bank happens inside your customer’s own banking app.
- No card terminal to buy, carry, charge or replace.
- No separate app for your customer to install before they can pay you.
Vcents as the way in
The point of putting this in WhatsApp is not novelty. It is that a payment request which arrives in the thread where the work was agreed gets read, and carries its own context — the customer already knows who you are and what it’s for.
There is nothing to install, no dashboard to learn, and no onboarding form to grind through before the first payment. Vcents is a phone number in your contacts.
Try it on a real invoice
Message Vcents and it will walk you through setup. It takes about a minute.
